My Eugene-based mobile bookstore business provides children’s multicultural books that are rich in art and storytelling. The Barefoot Books collection appeals to all ages and includes stories & anthologies from around the world; Africa, India, Ireland, China, Brazil, Norway, Mexico, Russia, Sweden, N. America, Indonesia, Germany, England, Nepal, and other places. I also offer games, puzzles, Folkmanis puppets, and a few other books from select PNW authors.
Barefoot Books are formatted in English, Spanish, French, bilingual, paperback, story CD, sing-along, chapter book, and board book. All are made with vegetable inks and sourced from recycled paper and sustainably-harvested paper that is FSC certified FSC or PREPS grade 3.
I primarily work with educators, librarians, and families in the school setting. I teach literacy workshops, provide leadership trainings for team members, and run book fairs and fundraisers. I also offer story time in Spanish or English, and enjoy being part of community events, festivals, and fairs doing outreach.
My book offerings connect families and inspire reading. They teach emotional intelligence, and cultural diversity. In these complex times, trust, open-mindedness, and respect are needed to promote goodwill and understanding between cultures. These bridges are essential – now more than ever. It is with great joy that I can share these wonderful, high quality treasures with you! World Peace is not such a Utopian idea. It can grow once story at a time, one relationship at a time…
